Welcome Back!

Hello, my name is Kyle DuMont and I continue to teach Gr. 8 Mathematics and Gr. 7/8 Science. Looking back at last year, I am excited about the new group of amazing senior students we have this year at Jack MacKenzie.  I am looking forward to a fun, exciting and successful year.

I have been teaching in the Regina Public School system since 2009.  I spent five years at Thomson Community School and last year at Jack MacKenzie, all the while teaching grade 7 and 8.  My wife Tenille is also a teacher, you will also hear about our daughter Lily.  We have had a relaxing summer with a little landscaping, and visiting family and friends while spending time watching Lily grow and explore.

This year we will be using Google classroom for most of our assignments.  Your child will be required to have their homework completed and printed, or ready to be printed for each assignment due date.  The joy of having the assignments online is that where ever the student is in the world they can continue to learn along side their classmates.  Also if they are sick, or away for a number of activities they have the opportunity not to fall behind.  With the Google Classroom there is an option this year to receive parent updates as to what has been assigned and if your child did not hand in an assignment on time.  There will be a step by step guide for the parents on how to set this up during our back to school BBQ in the coming weeks.

I am also taking my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction through the University of Regina. I am very excited to be working with you and your children this year on their education journey.  Please feel free to actively participate in the journey with your child, I look forward to meeting you all and working closely with you this year.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments please feel free to email me at kyle.dumont@rbe.sk.ca, or call the school to set up an appointment at 306-791-8585.

Thank you,

Kyle DuMont
